Canadian Security Association's executive director resigns

MARKHAM, Ontario—JF Champagne is stepping down as executive director of the Canadian Security Association, effective Aug. 21.
CANASA's national board and executive committee are working with Champagne to manage the transition and will meet to make recommendations on his replacement, the association said in a prepared statement.

TORONTO—The Canadian Security Association continues to fight against a zero-tolerance false alarm regulation here, despite a recent decision by a city committee to defer until 2012 consideration of a proposal that would give homeowners a break, allowing them one free false fire alarm annually before fines would kick in.
