Industry veteran mourned

We at Security Systems News were very saddened to learn about the sudden passing of David Merrick, marketing director for Pittsburgh-based Vector Security. A veteran of the industry, he was a member of our Editorial Advisory Board, a great source of knowledge, and also just an all-around nice guy. He'll be missed.

PBFAA celebrates its 30th at annual expo

Happy 30th anniversary, Pennsylvania Burglar & Fire Alarm Association!
The association is one of the oldest such organizations in the industry, according to its executive director Dale Eller. So it's got a lot to celebrate and is using its annual expo in June to do that. Here's more from a news release the group sent out today:
