SARNIA, Ontario - In an effort to increase its presence in the residential security market, Damar Security Systems has begun offering an automated notification service for working parents whose school-age children arrive home to an empty house.

The program, called Latch Key Kids, tracks a specific user’s exit and entry through a monitored security system using a user identification number associated with an individual’s access code.

Securex grabs Hold of significant number of Microtec Shares

ST-AUGUSTIN, Quebec - The deadline has come and gone for Securex’s offer to purchase up to 971,050 shares of Microtec Enterprises, a provider of residential and commercial security services.

The offer, which was originally open for acceptance until March 26, had been extended until April 16, according to Kevin Hooke, vice president of corporate finance at Wellington West Capital and a spokesman for Securex.

CALGARY, Alberta - Stealth Alarms, a full-service alarm provider throughout Canada, has announced the end of long term contracts to its alarm service and the beginning of a month-to-month contract.

The program will require customers to place a down payment, which Stealth Alarm president Brad Morrison expects to be approximately $200, an administrative fee that turns into a monitoring credit after one year.
