ATLANTA—Super-regional Ackerman Security's “Caught Stealing” program raised $3,400 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Georgia Chapter, this year, the company announced Oct. 11.
In conjunction with local radio station 680 The Fan, Ackerman donated $100 to the society each time a runner was thrown out trying to steal a base against the Atlanta Braves, according to the news release.
“We are very appreciative of Ackerman Security's long-standing support of our mission to cure all blood cancers and improve the quality of life for the patients and their families,” said Alana Kootsikas, of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, in the release.
