Ackerman golf tourney raises $5k for children's foundation

ATLANTA, Ga.—The ninth annual Ackerman Security Systems Charity Golf Tournament raised more than $5,000 for the Children's Wish Foundation International, the company announced Oct. 9.
The Children's Wish Foundation provides items, experiences and trips for children with life-threatening illnesses, according to its website.
“The dedication of the Children's Wish Foundation continues to create memorable experiences for children and their families in Atlanta and around the world,” said Jim Callahan, Ackerman Security Systems president, in a prepared statement.
Past proceeds from the tournament have been donated to the Salvation Army, Potter's House, Goodwill North Georgia, Chris' Kids, Dream House for Medically Fragile Children, Alabama Tornado Relief and the Piedmont Park Conservancy.
