BOCA RATON, Fla—ADT, which announced in April that it is going after small business, has two new video offerings for its small business clients: hosted video with cloud storage and, for onsite storage, "smart" DVRs.
Luis Orbegoso, president of ADT Small Business, told Security Systems News that the “demand for video has grown dramatically and there is an opportunity for us to offer more flexibility to customers [with these offerings that are both] more comprehensive and more affordable.”
ADT has partnered with Brivo for its cloud-based video storage solution. This hosted video solution is for the customer “who doesn't want [storage] hardware onsite,” Orbegoso said.
The solution is ideal for small businesses such as mall kiosks that “may not need basic security … [because] they are part of a complex where security is provided by a landlord, but they may want video capability,” Orbegoso said.
“It has a very low-cost installation price and a monthly fee,” he said. It includes motion-triggered video storage and alerts, archived video playback and either 15 or 30 days of storage. Live or recorded video can be viewed via smartphone, tablet or laptop.
“And if they do need access control, Brivo is completely integrated as well,” he said.
The second new offering is for onsite video storage with “smart” DVRs. “What sets apart the DVRs are the embedded analytics that are on it,” Orbegoso said. The analytics “make it easier and more effective [to find the desired video clips],” he added.
Smart search features enable the end user to quickly find event-triggered incidents. Alerts may also be programmed into the systems.
It's an option that's ideal for retail and food and beverage applications. ADT partnered with Dahua for the product.
