IRVINE, Calif. – Allied Universal’s Ohio branch has partnered with the Near Northside Emergency Material Assistance Program (NNEMAP) food pantry as part of its THERE volunteer program.
Allied employees assisted NNEMAP in its first “A Taste of German Village and the Brewery District” function held on July 14, 2023. “This was a great opportunity for Allied Universal professionals to have a direct impact on the well-being of their neighbors and community overall,” said Brian Webber, Allied Universal president of the Midwest region. “Allied Universal’s Midwest region is proud to continue the Project THERE volunteer program in giving back to our local communities.”
The volunteer event held a “giving drive” where community members could drop off donations of toiletries like soap, toothpaste, and a wealth of other hygiene products for locals in need. After that Allied Universal employees assisted with transporting and setting up tents, tables and chairs for the “A Taste of German Village and the Brewery District” community fundraiser. The event featured more than 13 local restaurants participating in the $100 per-plate fundraiser that raised the funds needed to help support the operations of NNEMAP in the community.
More than 30 Ohio branch employees delivered non-perishable food items and hygiene products collected by Allied Universal to the food bank. “Giving back to a community where we serve our employees and clients was heartwarming and gave us an opportunity to embody our Allied Universal core value, There for You!” said Liz Abbitt, Allied Universal regional vice president.
