DALLAS—American Defense Systems, a provider of smart security, automation and surveillance, has appointed John Fox to vice president of outside sales and added Garrett Fiveash into a newly created role to manage commercial accounts and strategic business development opportunities.
Fox will be overseeing the dealer development team and bringing his industry knowledge and insight to a nation-wide program that is already rapidly growing. Curtis Kindred, owner, president and CEO of American Defense Systems, is excited to bring Fox on board: “Adding John to our outside sales team will allow us to really grow this program. We can do more recruiting, and provide a broader level of support to our partners what are already working with us.”
Fox graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1996, where he played baseball and earned his Bachelor's degree. He began his career in sales, knocking doors and selling alarms door-to-door in 1998. After years of selling, Fox worked his way up into management in 2005. He later left to start his own company, Lifeline Security and Automation and in 2013, he sold his company to GHS Interactive Security, and was promoted to president of sales before joining American Defense Systems.
Fox resides in Frisco, Texas with his wife, Miranda and two children, Georgia and Lincoln. Together they love to play golf and cheer on the Dallas Cowboy football team!
With experience in business development, sales, operations, and installment and fulfillment, Fiveash brings a deep understanding of commercial fire, alarm and surveillance solutions.
“We've made a name for ourselves in the residential space, and have done a number of commercial accounts nationwide, but American Defense Systems has never put our focus on those larger-scale commercial opportunities,” Kindred explained. “Garrett is the perfect person to take this on, and take our commercial installations to a whole new level.”
Fiveash started his career in the security industry in 2008 as a technician. He excelled quickly, developing and learning new skillsets over the past 11 years, and has experienced the smart home security business from the first call to the install and everything in between. Fiveash's commitment to keeping up with the latest technology has taken him through various roles in field services, and allowed him to obtain various state licenses. He joins American Defense Systems after a long tenure with Vault Smart Home.
