Arcules to help lead Milestone's cloud efforts Company makes key hire as adoption of its cloud-based service grows

IRVINE, Calif.—Arcules, a leader in integrated video cloud as a service, made some key moves recently, including the hiring of Cody Flood as senior director of sales for the United States and Canada. He will play a significant role in accelerating adoption of Arcules' cloud-based service.

Arcules is also playing a key role in Milestone's cloud strategy and roadmap. In fact, at the recent Milestone Integration Platform Symposium (MIPS) event in Nashville last week, Tim Palmquist, VP Americas, Milestone, told attendees that the company has been “investing in and preparing for the development of the cloud for many years, even sacrificing some of our capabilities to develop our client-server products you understand today. We are in full support of all of the investments by the Canon family of companies on the journey to cloud, including that company in southern California known as Arcules. Their mission is to build new generation enterprise cloud with an IoT framework and they have the opportunity to go fast.”

Arcules is an official Milestone Technology Partner and offers Milestone customers an Integrated Video Cloud Service that easily connects with businesses' existing cameras, reduces server maintenance and IT management, and turns video and sensor data into valuable information for businesses to use as an intelligent resource across all locations. Additionally, Arcules Integrated Video Cloud Service is built on the intellectual property, technology and expertise of Milestone.

 “Milestone may have appeared quiet about cloud up to now, but they have been following a well-thought-out plan; Arcules is proof of that,” Arcules CEO Andreas Pettersson told SSN. “To create a pure cloud solution in 2016, Milestone spun out Arcules as a standalone company. Because Arcules has its origin in Milestone, we share DNA and even though we are very different companies, our culture, values and roots are similar. This has put Arcules three years ahead of where we would have been had we gone down the startup route. In parallel, Milestone is deconstructing their VMS and following a platform strategy. Together, this is a very strategic move that has required patience and careful planning on behalf of Milestone.”

Pettersson said that the company is growing rapidly and now has approximately 75 employees. With the recent hiring of Flood to lead the sales team, the company is poised for continued growth in 2019. “As we add more key features to our video surveillance service, Cody and the sales organization will be pivotal in establishing Arcules as the leading provider of integrated cloud services in security, IoT and expanding into other environments,” he said.

Flood joins Arcules with extensive experience in security, IoT, cloud and video solutions, most recently serving as vice president of North America Sales for the video surveillance and analytics business segments at Intelligent Security Systems (ISS). At ISS, he led strategic sales initiatives targeting organizations looking to leverage video surveillance data to improve security and achieve a competitive advantage. Prior to ISS, Flood held progressively senior sales and leadership roles at Arecont Vision and MOBOTIX AG.
