BOSTON—While some are excited about the possibility of the 2024 Summer Olympics coming here, The Boston Globe reports that this event would need “unprecedented” security measures, including “tens of thousands of police officers, soldiers, spies, and private security firms.”
While these Olympic games are almost 10 years away, the report notes that discussions and planning for security have already started. The report also cited figures of security costs in other cities, including the 2012 London summer Olympics, which cost $1.6 billion despite initial estimates of $361 million.
