MOREHEAD, Ky.—A May 13 story from the Morehead news reports The City of Morehead is about to crackdown on businesses that repeatedly tie up police resources.
The MPD has put forward an ordinance that would impose fines of not less than $15 and not more than $300 for repeated false alarms.
Businesses that still have multiple false alarms would be in danger of losing police coverage.
The police said it's not calls from mistaken citizens or the occasional tripped alarm at a business or residence that constitute the bulk of the problem.
It will take second reading of the ordinance to make it official.
