PHILADELPHIA, Pa., and DANVERS, Mass.—Media and technology giant Comcast has entered into an agreement with Osram Sylvania, a lighting solutions company, to deploy the company's light bulbs in Xfinity Home, Comcast's automation platform, according to a news release.
Sylvania's energy saving LED light bulbs can be plugged into standard light bulb sockets, saving homeowners up to 83 percent in energy costs. The bulbs also last up to 17.5 times longer than standard incandescent light bulbs, the company said.
“This is another example of how we are continuing to evolve our Xfinity Home product by creating more innovative home control solutions for our customers to enjoy,” Mitch Bowling, senior vice president and general manager of new businesses for Comcast, said in a prepared statement.
