SCHAUMBURG, Ill.—Convergint Technologies recently acquired SI Technologies Inc., a full-service provider of integrated security solutions headquartered in Albany, N.Y., with additional locations in Syracuse and Buffalo, N.Y. The company specializes in strategic commercial customers, with a large presence in the government sector.
“Joe Masciocco and Jerry Mirochnik have built a strong business that is a natural fit with our customers and culture,” Ken Lochiatto, CEO of Convergint Technologies, said in the announcement. “We're excited to build on Convergint's mission to be our customers' best service provider. SI Technologies helps us further strengthen our rapidly growing reach and capabilities in the Northeast, while bringing us a strong culture of service.”
Lochiatto told Security Systems News, “We have a small group of colleagues in Corning, N.Y., supporting Corning, but this really connects Route 90, from Boston to Buffalo now. Just a great group of people and a wonderful fit culturally and geographically speaking, so it was kind of a home run for us.”
All 44 SI Technologies colleagues across its three locations will join Convergint.
“Security is a serious and critical business, and SI Technologies has always been proud of our contribution to the safety of our nation,” Joe Masciocco, president of SI Technologies, said in the announcement. “Joining Convergint is the fitting next step in our evolution. It will offer new opportunities to our dedicated colleagues and greatly increase the scope of services we can provide to our loyal customers.”
In addition to continued growth in the U.S., Lochiatto said the company will “continue its growth outside the United States, so, into Europe and Asia and continue to find companies there and expand on the presence that we already have.”
Looking to 2019, he said the company will continue to look at and grow in the utilities and banking verticals, which will “continue to be strong,” he said.
Convergint Technologies is a global company that designs, installs, and services integrated building systems, including electronic security, fire alarm and life safety systems.
