SPRINGFIELD, Mo.—With the landscape of the cybersecurity industry evolving rapidly, Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) has announced that longtime employee Dave Roberts will transition to the newly created role of vice president of cybersecurity.
DMP noted in its announcement that the important relationship of cybersecurity and physical security is a priority to the company. As the physical security and information systems security industries blend, DMP wanted a dedicated individual to lead cybersecurity within its operations and minimize cybersecurity risks for customers.
“Dave Roberts will be transitioning to a cybersecurity focus as our vice president of cybersecurity,” announced Rick Britton, DMP CEO. “Dave has completed his master’s in cybersecurity and brings that knowledge, as well as his understanding of our systems, to the cybersecurity role.”
Roberts has been with DMP for 34 years. For the past 12 years, he served as vice president of engineering, working to keep hardware secure. This new role will direct his efforts toward Security as a Service (SaaS) and mobile platforms.
“I've always enjoyed investigating new technologies to see how they might be used to solve industry problems,” Roberts said. “DMP is a fast company. We want to stay ahead of the competition. I would like to thank our customers for trusting us as their security system provider.”
In addition to his master’s degree, Roberts is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). His cybersecurity expertise, along with his in-depth understanding of DMP systems, brings a rich level of experience to this new role.
