NORTHFORD, Conn.—The S3 Series fire alarm system by Gamewell-FCI by Honeywell is experiencing rapid adoption in the education, health care and commercial real estate markets, the company recently announced.

Launched in 2013, the system has an intuitive, touchscreen operation, aided by a high level of service and support through the company's nationwide network of engineered systems distributors, according to a news release.

High-end commercial building owners have seen particular value in how the panel's contemporary design blends in with modern-day aesthetics, the release said. Recently, the panel was installed at Northwinds I Tower, managed by Lincoln Property Co.. The 149,000-square-foot, six-story building houses 17 offices, a conference room and caf in one of Atlanta's most affluent business areas.

“Gamewell-FCI's S3 Series panel is very intuitive. Its simple user interface helps our facilities staff be more efficient in system management and monitoring,” Rene Serrano, chief engineer, Lincoln Property Co., said in a prepared statement. He said the system also is reliable and scalable.
While most addressable fire alarm control panels typically feature 30 or more buttons and a small text display, the S3 Series panel instead offers a 4.3-inch, color touchscreen display with five programmable buttons for quick and simple access to common functions. Step-by-step menu options enable a person with little or no experience to understand the cause of the alarm and how to operate the system in response to an emergency.
