Hakimo adds Brian Harrell to Board of Advisors

MENLO PARK, Calif. – Technology company Hakimo announced that Brian Harrell has joined its Board of Advisors.

Harrell comes from a background in critical infrastructure protection and will aid Hakimo in growth for those markets. Harrell was appointed by the President of the United States to serve as the sixth Assistant Secretary for Infrastructure Protection at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in 2018, and also the first Assistant Director for Infrastructure Security at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA).

“Highly regulated industries such as electricity, water, and pipelines have particularly demanding security monitoring requirements,” said Harrell. “The Hakimo AI solution relieves the burden on security teams by automatically monitoring access control events so operators can focus on what’s most important.” Harrell is also a veteran of the energy sector with leadership roles at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and Duke Energy. His time in the U.S. Marine Corps was spent at private sector agencies protecting the U.S. against security threats.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Brian as an advisor to Hakimo,” said Co-Founder and CEO at Hakimo, Samuel Joseph. “As we bring our AI solutions to more critical infrastructure and energy end users, Brian’s expertise will help us refine our offerings to best meet their needs.”

Hakimo’s artificial intelligence software enhances security features by applying itself to existing video surveillance and access control systems to help users swiftly respond to security incidents and reducing incidents of false alarms. Hakimo was named the 2022 Winner of the Commercial Monitoring Solutions category at the SIA NPS awards during ISC West this year.
