AUSTIN, Texas—HID Global, a provider of trusted identity solutions, has obtained RAPID ID certification from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), empowering law enforcement officers to conduct mobile biometric identification on the fly.
The solution handles behind-the-scenes heavy lifting for cross-check fingerprints against FDLE’s FALCON Integrated Criminal History System and FBI’s Repository for Individuals of Special Concern (RISC) databases. Officers simply tap the app to securely capture and transmit prints and receive hit or no-hit responses in a matter of minutes.
The HID Global team is committed to continuously improving the identification process by utilizing proven mobile biometric tools to quickly identify subjects with arrest warrants, or those with records in Florida state and federal criminal databases.
FDLE FALCON Rapid ID Certification consists of the HID NOMAD 30 mobile fingerprint reader, the HID ArcID Mobile app and the HID Commander software that is improving daily encounters and strengthening safety measures for Florida's law enforcement and the civilians they serve. This solution is designed with the intention to support enforcement endeavors in all types of use cases and environments.
The compact mobile fingerprint reader is built for frequent use and incorporates reliable sensors ideal for outdoor circumstances – dust, sunlight, heat, and moisture. It accurately reads prints regardless of dirt, sweat, dryness or worn down/shallow fingerprints.
In addition, the solution is FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliant, and all digital transactions are conducted within a secure environment that meets the state of Florida and federal security policies. Not only does HID Rapid ID keep Florida's officers in the field safe, but it is also developed to work with and alongside their existing mobile devices for a familiar, seamless digital experience that's both rewarding and highly productive.
The “tap the app” is designed to work with existing devices like smartphones that are already in the hands of officers. Rapid ID enables agencies and officers to capture fingerprints and verify the identity from anywhere so they can remain agile and stay ahead of suspects during routine traffic stops and daily encounters while on the beat. Officers capture two fingerprints using the HID NOMAD 30 mobile fingerprint reader, then tap the app on their mobile phone to submit the prints. Rapid ID runs point to securely capture, transmit and cross-check prints against state and federal databases with even broader enforcement capabilities – reporting back results with acute accuracy in minutes.
With FDLE FALCON Rapid ID Certification, HID Rapid ID provides law enforcement with next-level efficiency and intelligence regarding verifying identities in-the-field. For more information about HID's Rapid ID solution, click here.
