LAKE FOREST, Calif.—Kwikset, a residential door lock manufacturer, has teamed up with the nonprofit Building Homes for Heroes, which builds new or modifies existing homes to fit the needs of veterans with severe wounds and disabilities, mortgage free, the company announced Feb. 10.
Kwikset will supply its full complement of locks and hardware, according to the statement.
"These brave men and women fight every day for our freedom in difficult circumstances," said Keith Brandon, director of residential access solutions for Kwikset, in a prepared statement. "In the process, they make significant personal and physical sacrifices. These homes go a long way towards helping them put their lives back together.”
Building Homes for Heroes gave 17 mortgage-free homes to veterans across the country last year, according to the release.
