KENNESAW, Ga.—LOUD Security has acquired Alarm Associates Inc. of Atlanta, adding 1,200 accounts and bringing its RMR to more than $210,000, according to owner and president John Loud.
Alarm Associate's former owners, Tom and Dawn Johnson, “were outstanding in taking care of their customers” over nearly three decades, Loud told Security Systems News. “That's right in our footprint.”
The new accounts resulting from the acquisition, located in LOUD's Metro Atlanta main base, are about 60-40 residential-commercial, he said.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Loud told SSN in March that he was working on three acquisitions after receiving a senior revolving line of credit from Capital One Bank. The Alarm Associates purchase is one of those.
The Johnsons will help with the transition before retiring, and LOUD is keeping on a technician from their six-employee team, Loud said.
“We had plenty of opportunities to sell,” Tom Johnson said in a prepared statement. “But I was looking for the company that would be right for my customers. I chose LOUD for two reasons: they have great customer service and they have a lot of technicians on the street.”
Steve Rubin of Davis Mergers and Acquisitions Group administered the merger for Alarm Associates and John Colehower of Mergers & Acquisitions managed the deal for LOUD. “They were outstanding,” Loud said.
LOUD has customers in 15 states, employs 60 and expects to have about 75 on the payroll within the next year.
