MIAMI—Mission 500, a security industry-based non-profit organization, on Jan. 15 launched the Mission 500 #ShowOrange initiative aimed to provide aid to U.S. children in need.
To join, participants wear, or pose with, something orange on any Friday. Participants then take a photograph and submit it to info@mission500.org to be posted on Mission 500's #ShowOrange gallery on Facebook.
“The color orange is associated with both determination and fun, which also fits our intentions with the new #ShowOrange campaign,” George Fletcher, Mission 500 Advisory Board member and volunteer, said in a statement.
“We are proud of our work to improve the lives of children around the world, and with the launch of #ShowOrange, our aim is to ensure kids here at home are provided with the same aid,” Fletcher said.
Mission 500 will do a free and random drawing from the photos submitted each week. Winning photos will be showcased on Facebook, with a small gift awarded to the poster.
All of the donations will be distributed directly to needy children in the U.S. More information is available at www.mission500.org/showorange.
Mission 500 is a beneficiary of the Security 5K, which was founded by Security Systems News. The sixth annual Security 5k will take place on April 16, 2015 at ISC West.
