EATONTOWN, N.J.—MSA Systems Integration, which became independent in April, has decided to return to its original name: Access Systems Integration.
“We went round and round with a bunch of different names and had a contest internally … but the majority wanted to go back to the original name,” Jim Hennessy, Access Systems Integration president, told Security Systems News.
MSA SI was known as Access Systems Integration before it was acquired by MSA Security in 2008. Although it hasn't been used in a few years, the name still has brand recognition, Hennessy said.
ASI will focus on organic growth, and it will key in on national accounts, Hennessey said.
ASI does systems integration, access control, video, intrusion and perimeter protection. It will key in on national accounts, Hennessey said. ASI's current national account customers are in the pharmaceutical, energy and financial sectors.
Ray Dean, SVP, said ASI is taking a new approach to service with the goal of having 95 percent of its customers on service contracts.
"We want our guys there [working with the customer] all of the time, not just when they have a problem," Dean said. "The new service model is about our core value of being there for the customer,” he added.
ASI still has a “great working relationship” with its now former parent company MSA Security, Hennessy said. It has a number of customers in the energy sector and elsewhere where it partners with MSA Security.
