HENDERSON, Nev.—Security Partners, a Lancaster, Pa.-based wholesale monitoring company, acquired equipment, accounts and staff of 1 Time, a third party central station based here, Mike Bodnar, president of Security Partners, told Security Systems News.
An AES radio mesh network operated by 1 Time is part of the deal. The network is established throughout southern Nevada. “[It's] a great opportunity for our dealers, local and national,” Bodnar said.
“I think the most attractive thing about the AES network is [that] you don't have a third party provider,” Don Blunt, former co-owner of 1 Time along with his wife, Vanessa Blunt, told SSN. “It's great for fire and security, and it enhances the central stations ability to cover anything local."
The deal also includes nine staff members, 1,500 accounts and other equipment such as automation platform receivers and peripherals, all of which are moving to Security Partners' new Las Vegas facility. The new central station is scheduled for a grand opening during ISC West.
Security Partners has three other central stations in Lancaster, Pa., Anaheim, Calif., and San Antonio.
Bodnar said the staff's previous training helps. “As we kick things into gear [at the new facility] it's nice to have nine experienced Bold Manitou users onboard in Las Vegas working with the rest of our team.”
Security Partners first discussed the deal with 1 Time more than a year ago, according to Bodnar, but finalized terms in the last four to six weeks.
“[The acquisition] was a great opportunity for us and our operators to partner up with [Security Partners] and be part of a growing community and a growing company,” Vanessa Blunt told SSN.
Terms of the deal were not released.
Don and Vanessa Blunt are the current owners of Southern Nevada Fire Protection and will become a dealer with Security Partners.
