SILVER SPRING, Md.—The Security Industry Association (SIA) has named Alice DiSanto the 2022 recipient of the SIA Committee Chair of the Year Award, which recognizes individuals for excellence in leading SIA committees and advancing member objectives.
SIA will present DiSanto with the award at The Advance, SIA’s annual membership meeting, which will be held March 22 during ISC West.
DiSanto was introduced to the Security Industry Association in 2014 and immediately became actively involved. She is a founding member of the SIA Women in Security Forum Steering Committee and chair of the forum’s Charitable Giving Subcommittee. SIA’s Women in Security Forum is a community that works to engage all security professionals to promote, recruit and cultivate women’s leadership for a more inclusive and diversified industry.
DiSanto has executive leadership experience with firms in the Fortune Global 500, four upstart companies and a regional hospital. As a marketing, sales and public relations professional, she has industry knowledge of automotive, security, technology, health care, direct marketing and nonprofit. DiSanto has worked in the field of cutting-edge technology in roles with Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Sharp Electronics Corporation’s robotics division and Rajant Corporation, where she currently serves as vice president of global marketing.
In addition, DiSanto’s articles and interviews can be found within security trade and robotics publications, and she is a regular panelist and moderator for industry education sessions and webinars. DiSanto graduated magna cum laude from Susquehanna University with a dual major in marketing and human resource management.
Commenting on her role overseeing the SIA Women in Security Forum’s charitable giving, DiSanto said, “Achievement has come by committee. Together, the Women in Security Forum Charitable Giving Subcommittee strives to do ‘Good Works’ through demonstrative service of deeds and in-kind donations. Giving is the pulse of this group, yet moreover, the heartbeat of the Security Industry Association. We are a network focused on safeguarding those around us.
“Through efforts like the CAN DO Challenge and Essentials 4 Job Security, servitude to our community comes through one-on-one acts of kindness. To be recognized for leading all of you to help someone else is a gift beyond measure, and I am truly grateful.”
Under DiSanto’s charitable giving leadership, the SIA Women in Security Forum has presented annual efforts like the CAN DO Challenge, which inspires individuals to help overcome America’s unprecedented hunger issue by donating “cans” or “doing” acts like delivering or serving meals during the holiday season, and the Essentials 4 Job Security Giveback, an initiative at ISC West in support of Dress for Success Southern Nevada that offers acts of kindness and donations to help women trying to get back into the workforce feel more confident and self-assured as they take steps to improve their lives.
“Through her leadership of the SIA Women in Security Forum’s charitable initiatives, Alice DiSanto has galvanized many in the security industry to give back to the community and do good works with great impact throughout the United States,” SIA CEO Don Erickson said. “SIA applauds Alice for her dedication to making a difference and fostering generosity among security professionals, and we look forward to recognizing her for her achievements at The Advance this year.”
The Advance 2022 will take place on Tuesday, March 22, at 10:30 a.m. PDT during ISC West. At this special membership meeting, attendees will review official association business, recognize volunteer achievements from the past year and exchange market intelligence for the year ahead.
