Silent Knight trainings include new technologies

NORTHFORD, Conn.—Silent Knight by Honeywell is offering introductory and advanced fire alarm training in 20 states, the company recently announced. This year's curriculum has been expanded to include Silent Knight's multicriteria fire and carbon monoxide detectors, as well as its emergency voice system.
Demand for carbon monoxide detection is rising because of new legal requirements, and because it's cheaper to combine fire and CO detection in one device, according to the news release. In addition, the global market for mass notification systems (MNS), such as the Silent Knight IntelliKnight emergency voice system, is growing, according to the statement.
“It's not just schools and the military looking for MNS (mass notification systems),” said Shawn Burke, Silent Knight training director, in a prepared statement. “Now theaters, shopping malls, churches and office buildings realize they need a means for communicating with people in and around their buildings in an emergency.”
