‘Unfinished business’: Emphasis on cloud leads DiPeso back to acre

PLANO, Texas—For Paul DiPeso, there was one motivating factor that brought him back to the acre security family.

After two years as president of SAFR, a computer vision platform for live video that’s part of RealNetworks, DiPeso recently re-joined acre as executive vice president for cloud business development.

acre security“My time at SAFR was phenomenal – it was exciting,” DiPeso said. “What I realized, though, looking back is that I had unfinished business, and when I look at what had happened to acre over the last 12-15 months, they have really changed. What I noticed is that there was an incredible emphasis put on strategy. There were some clear go-to-market strategic initiatives that were put into place. There was a much bigger global mindset, and that was exciting.”

DiPeso previously worked for acre when the company acquired Feenics, a cloud-based access control solutions provider, where he was vice president and general manager.

In his new role, DiPeso explained that he is going to focus on speaking to enterprise-style companies that are looking to transition from their current platform to a cloud-based enterprise environment, helping them decide whether the transition will take place over one year, two years, three years, etc., and assist in “stepping them through that (transition) seamlessly,” he said.

“What we need to do is one, help educate them on what can be done and where it can go, and second, how can we make this easier for them?” he said. “We've created a new user interface that is going to be universal across all our platforms that gives an end user - if they're not ready to make that jump, that transition over to cloud today - the vehicle and the user interface that will allow them to start now with something that's going to give them more features and benefits anyway in our current on-premise system.”

With cloud access adoption growing exponentially, DiPeso knows that he and his team at acre are in the right place at the right time to help end users with the migration.

“We know customers are asking for it,” he said. “We know that they want to do it. We know its time is now. If you're not ready, let's put a plan together with you and show how you can slowly get to the point that in a couple of years when you're ready to take that Band-Aid off, or if your budget allows, we can get you there quite easily.”
