SAN FRANCISCO—U.S. Technologies, based here, recently won a contract from Marin County to replace an aging fire alarm system at the Marin Civic Center, according to an article from the Marin Independent Journal.
The base bid of $829,000 was accepted after Vanden Bos Electric withdrew a $1.5 million base bid, citing a mistake it made in its bid proposal. According to the article, the U.S. Technologies contract was augmented with $525,000 in add-on alternates, along with a $200,000 project contingency.
The project will include replacing alarm pull stations and installing new devices, speakers, strobes and control panels in the main lobby of the Civic Center.
