VideoIQ announces award of 10 new patents

BEDFORD, Mass.—VideoIQ, maker of security cameras and encoders with analytical and storage technology, announced this week that it has earned 10 new patents in the U.S. and the U.K. The company now holds more than 25 international patents.
The patents apply to VideoIQ's content-aware storage technology, which encompasses sensing, analysis and mass storage, and to intelligent, pattern-based video analytics with tracking, search and classification capabilities, according to its press release. Other patents cover algorithms to be used with standard, low-power processors.
“This level of commitment and accomplishment blends technology, science and mathematics to a level I am most proud of. Our team continues to push the boundaries in intelligent analytics, allowing cameras to essentially see and think like you do,” said Mahesh Saptharishi, company president and co-founder, in a prepared statement. VideoIQ products are designed to track and detect suspicious activity, sending real-time alerts to responders, according to the company's website.
