DIY security system featured on 'Ask This Old House'

BOSTON—Do-it-yourself wireless home security system SimpliSafe was featured in a March 6 episode of “Ask This Old House,” the Emmy-nominated series presented by the home improvement experts at “This Old House,” according to a March 20 news release from SimpliSafe.
The news release said homeowner Amanda began looking for a home security system after burglars kicked her door down and stole all her jewelry and requested advice from “Ask This Old House” host Kevin O'Connor.
He suggested she get a SimpliSafe DIY home security system. "It's got a lot of different components you can layer on," O'Connor explained while demonstrating entry sensors, motion sensors, smoke and CO detectors, and freeze sensors, among others, the release said. Amanda and O'Connor were able to install the system easily and the homeowner liked the SimpliSafe smartphone app, which allows a homeowner to control the system even when not at home, according to the release.
