SimpliSafe wins 2024 TMA/SSN Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leadership Award

MCLEAN, Va., and YARMOUTH, Maine—The Monitoring Association (TMA) and Security Systems News (SSN) have announced that Boston-based SimpliSafe is the winner of the third annual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Leadership Award.

TMA President Steve Butkovich and Security Systems News Editor Cory Harris presented the 2024 TMA/SSN Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award to SimpliSafe Chief Product Officer Hooman Shahidi during the recent 2024 Annual Meeting in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

The award was established in 2021 to promote and foster a more inclusive workforce throughout the security industry.

This recognition reflects the incredible efforts of our leadership and employee resource groups (ERGs) in fostering an inclusive environment for both our employees and customers,” Shahidi said. “At the heart of our success are our mission to keep every home secure and two of our core values, ‘One Team’ and ‘Lift as We Climb,’ which drive us to uplift one another and collaborate as a unified community. Each nominee was asked to deploy the TMA/SSN DEI Employee Assessment Survey to their employees. The web-based assessment tool consists of approximately 40 questions covering eight facets of DEI practice within your organization.

In addition, each nominee was required to submit one to four “Shared Success Examples” of how their organization implements DEI-related activities.
