THOROFARE, N.J.—Checkpoint Systems' electronic article surveillance systems will be deployed in all of Family Dollar's 7,900 stores by the end of 2014, Family Dollar announced Oct. 9.
After testing Checkpoint's EVOLVE P10 ECO systems in several stores over three years, Family Dollar decided to use the technology in all stores to reduce shrink and cut energy costs.
“We are encouraged by the success we have already experienced in our test stores, and I am confident that installing Checkpoint's system in all of our locations will deliver an immediate impact on our profitability by reducing our shrink and increasing sales,” said Chris Nielsen, Family Dollar VP of loss prevention, in a prepared statement.
According to a statement, Evolve EAS products allow retailers to use real-time data to make operational decisions, while using up to three-quarters less energy than alternative solutions.
Checkpoint Systems is handling all services necessary to install its systems in Family Dollar Stores, according to George Cohen, a spokesman for the company.
