AMITYVILLE, N.Y.—NAPCO Security Technologies announced June 30 that in order to provide customers with seamless integration of its products, iBridge Connected Home is now available for both Apple and Google platforms.
Apple recently announced a move into the "smart home" technology sector. And Google entered the space early this year with the $3.2 billion buy of smart thermostat and smoke alarm maker Nest Labs. Now, Nest has announced a $555 million planned buy of Dropcam, which makes video cameras that stream video to a user's computer or cellphone.** The deal gives Google an entrée into home security.
NAPCO Security Technologies' iBridge Connected Home has features that include giving homeowners the ability to send a silent alarm or panic alert; view live video stream from small secure cameras installed around the home; receive live video alerts; and control lights, thermostats and small appliances.
Richard Soloway, company chairman, said in a prepared statement that iBridge is able to “foster a safe and happy home environment” for customers.
