BOULDER, Colo.—Envysion held its second annual Hosted & Managed Video Summit here just prior to the annual ESX show from June 6-7. There was a sold out crowd of more than 75 participants this year, up 50 percent from last year, according to Envysion VP of product and marketing Carlos Perez.
"There was positive feedback, overall, from participants. We have reached a critical mass of participants with interest in continually being part of the event," Perez said. "There was lots of good productive feedback on how we can build on this year's event as well."
Perez said managed and hosted video product and service providers including Envysion, Arrowsight, Axis AVHS, Cernium and Secure-i as well as ecosystem players from across the space including Sony, Brivo, Siemens, Checkpoint, EMC, Verint, Radiant and Xformity were on hand to drive discussion and learning. The two-day event delivered speakers and panel discussions as well as time for networking and smaller group meetings, Perez said. The agenda also included speakers from venture capital company the Foundry Group, IMS Research, Envysion and Sony.
“Having attended the Summit both this year and last year, I can attest to the outstanding quality of content provided throughout the two days. The sessions focused on timely issues and addressed the challenges of delivering successful managed and hosted video solutions and growing that business,” Diebold senior advanced dealer accounts manager Steve Crider told Security Systems News. “Personally, I identified opportunities to work with managed & hosted video providers and prospective dealer-integrators for Diebold's Advanced Dealer program. Through the two days there was much discussion and the one area everyone agreed on was that there is a huge opportunity for managed and hosted video solutions in the marketplace.”
Perez said hot topics of discussion included who the right players to bring managed and hosted services to market were, as well as industry nomenclature, a topic Security Systems News has discussed before with other video players.
